About us
Our story began out of an idea to made a custom diaper bag before the birth of my daughter. After researching thousands of bags and trying to find exactly what I wanted (with absolutely no luck) I set out to design my own bag in the fabrics I wanted with the features I knew I needed. I didn’t know it at the time, but this small action would be the catapulting start to the entire shop due to so many requests for a custom bag just like mine!
After multiple requests for a custom diaper bag, “The Mommy Bag” was born, and while at the time it was just a fun hobby, “The Mommy Bag” gave birth to “The Mommy & Me” doll diaper bag sets to be made for sale and thus, the development of our online shop. Amanda founded The Wildflower Patch in June of 2010 with only a lack of sleep and an Etsy account, a sewing machine, and ZERO experience selling but years of experience in sewing, and we have only grown from there!
Amanda began learning to make cloth diapers in an effort to diaper her two little ones. Through the process of trial and error, she honed in a skill for making cloth diapers that not only function beautifully, but are also beautiful to look at! These have since been added to the product line at The Wildflower Patch.
What started as a young mom, with one home sewing machine working late nights and early mornings (and definitely through some nap-time hustles as well) has grown into the business it is today, operating with industrial sergers, industrial sewing machines, and professional embroidery machines. We offer made-to-order items, which are produced at the time of purchase, ready-to-ship products that have been made and stocked in our studio, and pre-order items that can be found at a discount through our facebook group. In the group, you’ll find discounts and sale prices not offered to the public, and you’ll get first dibs on new releases, in addition to a few other perks.
